So Motley Crue is going straight to the steaming service Netflix next month (March 22nd) to unleash the much-anticipated film based upon their successful book titled The Dirt which tells the tale of all the shenanigans of Motley Crue over the past 3 Decades!
Just a few short days ago Motley released the trailer for the movie. I watched the trailer and was kinda amused as in some clips Mick Mars was always the Old Geezer in the band looks like the Youngest Guy in the band! How are they going to address the Corabi years will be interesting for me as John‘s contributions have always been wiped from the Crue History books which is unfortunate.
Having said that…
What I look forward to is seeing the track listing of the soundtrack with the 4 new crushing songs that the Crue recorded for The Dirt Soundtrack. “Crushing” is the word Nikki Sixx has described the new songs. Then of course one song features Machine Gun Kelly (who portrays Tommy Lee in the film) doing some rapping or something that makes the fanbase freak out about that possibility!
I dunno this may be a total Train wreck of a film that the Crue may actually pull off cause as we all know in life people love Train wrecks and that goes hand in hand with these guys!
I’ll be surprised if they get to Corabi. My guess is they’ll paint Dr Feelgood as a big comeback triumph (after the crash, Nikki dying, sobriety and all that) and leave it there.

I’m kinda with u on that…

Looked like all 80s in the trailer too.

With bad wigs hahaha..
The only part that looks like anything past 1990 is when Vince’s young daughter was sick. I think he was out of the band at that time..I could be wrong on that..

No you’re right, “Skylar’s Song” was on 1995’s solo album.

“Crushing” songs with a fucking rapper…no thanks!
Well maybe 3 of the 4 songs will be OK.
I don’t think I will be watching this at all. I can’t do biopics. Haven’t seen Queen, probably won’t.

Actually Mikey Queen was quite good considering they had to condense a career down to a movie. I enjoyed watching it once! The Soundtrack is the clincher for me…
Same with the Crue will watch it once and hope they go that extra step like Queen did with there soundtrack!

One buddy told me the Brian May guy nailed it. But the Crue one…man, that’s Ramsay Bolton playing Mick Mars. How can I not hate his fucking guts? LOL

Yeah The May guy was the best of the bunch. It was a bang on job. Yeah the Mars one is funny. Kinda bad wigs and shit I so wanna see it man…Trainwreck!

The wigs look awful, and that’s me being objective! But like you said, it’s on Netflix. So I can see it for free. I dunno, I may. It’s hard to justify caring about this when I have so many DVDs to watch still.

Sykes just signed a record deal. New Sykes coming!

I will buy it for sure. Sykes I have in 2019 more interest in than New Whitesnake 2019. The only thing is that brilliant Slide It In reissue thats coming out next month!

I know where you (and Scott) stand on current Whitesnake!

Just added a snippet video of the new CRUE song on this post Mikey…
When it comes to Whitesnake now all I hear is Cov trying to duplicate Sykes huge 87 riffs all over ….there’s one Boss on guitar and thats SYKES!

Well…my other comment is “gee whiz, no songs after 1989”. So the story goes into the 90s but not the music.

I have morbid fascination in wanting to see this one. If they don’t address the Corabi years, I will be slightly pissed. Mostly, like you, I am anticipating the music as well. I still dig their music so it will be an no-brainer to add to my Crue Collection. Oh and one last thing…Kiss is not stealing the Crue’s final tour set…If anything, Crue stole everything from Kiss.

They all stole from the Coop if u really want to get down to it. Different execution and such by the different acts but Coop brought it and delivered it and they all followed…
Now Crue is pissy pants. I read that its the same guy who put the Crue stage together was hired by KISS…
Who cares as long as a its great show..period!
By the way great way to phrase this as a ‘Morbid Fascination’ Man I wish I would have thought of that! haha

Good point. Coop was the trail blazer.

Not once would the Coop ever say these guys bought into my schtick and ran with it. Not his style. Even Gene and Paul are probably pretty happy that Sixx is giving them more press so they are keeping there mouths shut..

Saw them on their Farewell tour. Alice Cooper opened (of course, I enjoyed the Coop more than the Crue). Have not posted on that show yet, but one day…

I’m not a Crue fan, so reckon I’m gonna give this a watch and see how it goes. Might as well, huh?

Crue were smart by delivering this straight to Netflix! If this movie would have it the theatre it would have been a dud to the effect that this movie even if it did ok would not even come close to what the Queen movie did. Sixx mad a smart business mover there…sell the movie on a streaming device so myself as a 51 year old will watch and will get the soundtrack as the Crue was a band that was part of my DNA back in the 80’s! So Sixx will be happy to read this!

Netflix is definitely the way for most things, I reckon. Given the price of a cinema ticket, they’ve guaranteed this will reach as big an audience as possible.

Good bass in that snippet. It doesn’t sound much like Motley Crue.

No it doesn’t…Still sounds ok for a snippet haha…Bob Rock putting Vince’s pieces back together again!

Yup I’m thinking autotune as well…Still though its the Crue carefully building us to the Like A Virgin track!

Motley might now be the band who have the most “new songs” for greatest hits albums, second only to the Stones!

Great call…what was the last full album? Saints of Los Angeles…I think…man thats ways back. I wish the track list had some different live stuff on it as they built a pretty decent live reputation back in the day…

Yes and it wasn’t a bad album but definitely overproduced in my opinion.
I wonder how they were handle the Corabi situation in this movie.

Scott maybe right that they end it like around Dr Feelgood. Like the Queen movie ends at Live Aid. End it on a high so to to speak as soon as they canned Vince they never got it back and like u said put out more GH Albums with new songs than new actual studio albums…

Not much of a Crue fan but I’ll check this out since I do like bio-pics. Although they do generally tend to not be very good if the band or artist has too much say in how it is made. This sort of looks like what is happening here, but you never know.
PS: I had to look up who Machine Gun Kelly is.

My daughters know who Machine Gun Kelly is as he’s played Tbay a few times…
They don’t really know who Motley Crue is hahaha…
This movie will be Trainwreck…goofy/bad wigs/more goofiness so saying that it will be awesome!

It’s the Crue, it will have chicks, drugs, bad jokes, jackass stunts, brawls and somewhere in between movie scenes. A review I’ve seen said it goes all the way to the New Years Eve final concert. But that doesn’t mean they address Corabi or Castillo years.

Hmmm thats the first I heard of that! Interesting…Well if Castillo and Crabby are in it somehow I guess there’s another set of bad wigs coming up!
